We’re Hiring! Experienced Office Administrator

BHP Design is a medium sized chartered architectural practice based in St. Paul’s Square, Birmingham.


We are looking for an experienced administrator who is organised, flexible, takes initiative, is willing to learn and enjoys working in a small team.

This full time role, based in our office in Birmingham, will be to cover maternity leave for approximately 12 months.

You will work alongside the Directors, offering admin support as well as general office duties for the team, such as;


  • Working on reception – meeting & greeting clients and offering refreshments
  • Answering the main phoneline, transferring calls & passing on messages
  • Booking occasional travel
  • Typing & issuing letters & invoices
  • General day to day book keeping
  • Ordering office supplies
  • Liaising with IT support
  • Organising incoming mail/Sending mail
  • Posting social media updates


The role will be varied day to day, and there will be ad hoc duties as required.

Working on reception, and being the face of the company,  you must be confident, presentable and have a positive attitude with polite telephone manner.

You must also have excellent computer skills,  and be confident using Microsoft Windows & Office.

Having experience in a similar Office Administrator role is essential.

A general bookkeeping knowledge and ability to use Xero (or similar) would be beneficial.


Start date – Flexible (no later than 01.04.2021)

Salary – £25,000 per annum

Hours – Mon-Fri 9am-5.30pm (1 hr lunch break)

Annual leave – 25days + bank holidays
